Can my landlord make me move out in Atlantic City?
Not as payback for using your rights.
Why, and the exact law
Landlords can't send a notice to quit or sue to evict you as payback.
Depends on the year the building was built.
From Atlantic City Code ch. 41, read Oct 6, 2026.Show the law
“No landlord of housing or rental space to which this chapter is applicable shall serve a notice to quit upon any tenant or institute any action against a tenant to recover possession of the rental unit …”
State law applies here too. Where both cover a rental, the stricter city rule usually wins; each rule below says so.
