Max 9.683% in 2026, 10% in 2027.

Rent can't go up at all in the first 12 months.

Depends on the year the building was built.

Who it covers

  • Not buildings less than 12 years old.
  • Not owner-occupied buildings with 4 units or fewer.
  • Exemptions: First certificate of occupancy 12 or fewer years before the notice; public housing authority, public development authority and regulated nonprofit housing; qualified low-income/LIHTC housing; shared bathroom or kitchen with resident owner; owner-occupied single-family home (up to two rented units/bedrooms); owner-occupied duplex/triplex/fourplex (last three not available to REITs, corporations, or LLCs with a corporate member). Notice form not required for income-based subsidized tenancies.
