What they can ask for in Texas

What can they charge me to apply?

Texas law sets no limit on application fees.

If they turn you down without having made their written screening rules available to you, they must refund the fee.

How big can the deposit be?

Texas law sets no maximum deposit.

It must come back within 30 days after you move out and give your new address in writing, minus listed damages (never for normal wear and tear).
